Chis Kreider’s long shot was deflected by Mika Zibanejad and popped over Louis Domingue with 1:28 left in regulation to give the Rangers a 5-3 win over the Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Friday night, knotting their first-round series at three games apiece.
In being credited with the goal, Zibanejad polished off a hat trick — adding an assist on Kreider’s second period goal — to set up set up a do-or-die Game 7 at the Garden on Sunday.
Blueshirts goalie Igor Shesterkin withstood another onslaught of Penguins shots, stopping 31 of 34 by an offense missing captain and top line center Sidney Crosby, reportedly dealing with a concussion sustained in Game 5.
